Many local bands played at the Grog on Middle St and other charity events at the Masonic Temple on Green St.

NPD – Jeff Morris, Steve O’Sullivan

Kryptonite – Duffy Bouchard on Drums, Don Nolan on bass and vocals, and Al Zabriskie on Guitar and vocals. Band later changed name to Peace Fighters.

MacDonald, Al – Music teacher in the Newburport and Amesbury school.  He was a 1970 Berklee Graduate and Jazz band performer.

Harris, Les Jr – Berklee graduate 1983-1995.  Drummer with the vocal jazz band “The Ritz”  from 1983-1995.  He is also faculty member at UNH and Amesbury Schools.

  1. Remember “The Shadows”? During the mid to late sixties we played just about everywhere locally. From the Masonic Temple to the Moose hall, NHS dances, to all the clubs at Salisbury Beach(including the “Surf”), and Hampton Beach. We all graduated from NHS ’67-68. Still get together and play at concerts every summer.

  3. I’ll try to come up with some photos. More Shadows info: Brian Chase(a Shadow 1968-69), Bill Roberts(1967-69) and Oodie Smith(1967-69), all have passed away. But the three original Shadows, Myself, John Hill, and John Lowell, along with Teddy Stanwood(1965-67) still perform every summer. Look for us this summer!
